How to Shine in Your Life

How to Shine in Your Life

When you look at our life, whether you are 10 > 20 > 30 > or anywhere in between your teens and retirement, there is often a very specific reaction that you can sense if you pay enough attention.

This reaction may be one of dismay because you have not nearly accomplished what your potential told you that you could.

Depending on your age at the time of this realization, you may then project your lost moments onto your children, or your partner or your parents for any number of reasons.

We project onto our parents because for some odd reason children hold their parents responsible for their failures never (or seldom) considering that from a young age you may have stampeded your parents through coercion to do what you wanted them to.  (smile!!)

I can just hear the gasps disbelief and disgust that I dare to say we are responsible for our own lives - at least from around the time we enter our teens and become ... fill in the blanks!

What have you done to your parents in the name of their being responsible for all the stuff that is happening to you - good or bad?

Well, I am here today to let you know all is not lost.  I am not about to reiterate what so many seem to be spewing - "it is not your fault!* and to tell you that if you do not or have not accomplished anything of worth noting then you are responsible.

Only you can make the choices of where your life leads you.

Only you are responsible for the decisions you make, the actions you take, the people you love and the people you dont.

And when you can live your life to the fullest of your potential and without harming others, including your parents emotionally, mentally or physically, without using and abusing others as stepping stones in your hurry up the ladder, then your star shines so much the brighter.

Activity:  What is the one thing in your life that you wish you had changed when you had an opportunity?  What decision did you not make because you were scared of taking a risk, yet now you look back and wish you had taken the leap of faith?  What do you think you can change today to steer you in the direction of the life you yearn for?

***   What action can you take today to make your star shine brighter and light your life up as well as the lives of your loved ones and those close to you?

Take  a few moments and write down your thoughts as your read this article.  BE DARING and answer the questions and then have a good laugh with yourself, celebrate small victories and very importantly celebrate that decision you make today and take action on, or the action you take that you have procrastinated about for how many years!
